This is a Vinyasa yoga class designed to benefit the cyclist. Strengthening poses will be combined with deep openings of muscles that become tight from riding: hip flexors, quads, and shoulders, among others. Building strength and flexibility in the core and back will help support optimum posture on long rides. We will use the breath to increase awareness of the position of the body and state of the mind. Vinyasa yoga links flowing poses with the breath, allowing the body to seduce the mind to relax.
This will be a mixed level class, designed to allow each student to find and honor their own edge. Students, please bring your own mat. the class will be $14.00.
Mary completed her 200 hour certification from D.C's Flow Yoga Center, in 2014. She loves teaching yoga, riding and running the trails of Rock Creek.
